M2  Typlex

AISI M2

M2 is a tungsten-molybdenum high-speed steel and is a popular grade for general purpose cutting and non-cutting applications. It has a wider heat-treating range than most ofthe molybdenum high-speed steels, coupled with a resistance to decarburization that is char- acteristic of tungsten types. M2 offers an excellent combination of red hardness,tough- ness, and wear resistance. M2 is available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. M2 is subjected to a variety of rigid quality control tests and inspection to ensure quality, unifor- mity, and reliability.

TYPLEX

Typlex is a unique analysis of hot work steel, built to provide the ultimate in heat resistance, yet provide great strength. Tensile strength is approximately 300,000 lbs. Commonly used chrome-molybdenum and chrome-vanadium types provide heat resisting and wear qualities, but often fail by lacking the necessary degree of toughness as found Typlex. For insert dies used in: Board Hammers (hot), Upsetters (hot), Forging Presses (hot), Extrusion Presses (hot and cold), and also for forging aluminum, copper, and steel.
